This view of Rutland Water is at Barnsdale next to the Barnsdale Country Club and close to Barnsdale Gardens in the Exton Avenue.

Rutland Water is set in about 3,100 acres of countryside, and is situated between the Market Towns of Oakham and Stamford.

The deer in this painting are fallow deer and come from Burley Wood which is on the opposite side of the main A606.

Burley House sits high on Burley on the Hill to the right of ths painting overlooking Rutland Water and was built in the 1690s.
